URGENT: Oxford Academy tonight cancelled (Rescheduled for 10 Nov)
10th July 2014
Very sorry to have to say this: “Regrettably, James have been required to postpone tonight’s show at Oxford’s 02 Academy given doctors advice due to a current throat infection Tim Booth has. It’s being treated, and the intention is Manchester’s Summer in the City at Castlefield Bowl show will go ahead tomorrow Friday 11th July as planned.
Apologies to fans for the late notice on Oxford tonight, the show has been re-scheduled for Monday 10th November to start the November UK tour. All tickets will remain valid for the new date, or refunds can be obtained at point of purchase.”
Please spread the word.
Apple Store Kurfürstendamm, Berlin
19th June 2014
The band travel to Germany next month for a ‘Meet the Musician’ event at the Apple Store in Berlin on 3 July. This consists of a half hour moderated discussion and 10-15 min question and answer session with the audience, followed by a live performance of a few songs. The event lasts an hour in total and begins at 6:30pm.
There is seating for up to 200 people in the main events hall and free tickets can be acquired through the Apple Store, Kurfürstendamm website or the online Apple Store App.
These events are recorded live and then archived on a dedicated podcast event page. (N.B. Apparently only the discussion/Q&A is recorded at these, not the live session.)
James take over the 6 Music airwaves! Live session and more
12th June 2014
6 Music have invited the band to hijack their studio and take over the airwaves for a full 2 hours on Sunday night. They’ll be playing a handful of tracks LIVE, as requested by listeners, and choosing tracks by other artists with a James connection to spin.
And in keeping with 6 Music’s ‘Now Playing’ tradition, you, the listener, will be able to write in to help choose what’s played! Obviously without rehearsing their entire back catalogue, the pool of songs the band can play on the night is limited to a shortlist of what they can nail without a chance to rehearse, so do bear that in mind so your imagination doesn’t run too wild. But let us know what you’d like to hear! Tweet at @BBC6Music and @wearejames with #James6Music, or check out the Beeb’s blog with various other options for sending your suggestions in.
You’ll be able to listen in online worldwide – do join us! That’s 6-8pm on Sunday 15 June, BBC Radio 6 Music.
One-day photo comp – win entry to Castlefield plus signed album
7th June 2014
Today, for one day only, we’re running a photo competition for fans with their albums. To be in with a chance, just head down to you local record store (or whatever passes for one in your town) and get a photo of yourself with La Petite Mort. Post it on the official James facebook page, or tweet it at @wearejames on Twitter with the hashtags #james #lapetitemort.
The top prize winner will be selected by you – the fans and general public – based on how many ‘likes’ or ‘favourites’ are received by midnight tonight – and they’ll receieve entry for two to the sold out Castlefield Bowl gig Summer In The City, plus a copy of the album signed by the band. There will be prizes for 2nd and 3rd place too (chosen by us) – 2nd will secure a signed copy of the album, 3rd place a La Petite Mort themed T-shirt and assorted album related gubbins.
To give yourself the best chance of winning, try to be creative with the photos! Winner will be selected at midnight tonight.
Good luck!

Calling all James fans – a thunderclap for La Petite Mort!
28th May 2014
The new album La Petite Mort is released on Monday, and we’ve a favour to ask. The band (and all at HQ!) feel they’ve made one of their strongest albums to date, and would really appreciate it if you can help us spread the word – en masse – come 9am Monday morning. Let’s get a buzz going and welcome La Petite Mort with a bang – or better still a thunderclap!
With a couple of clicks you can pledge a tweet, Facebook or Tumbler post to get us off to a running start. We’ve chosen the amazing and indeed moving video Ainslie Henderson made for us for Moving On as the link we’d most like to introduce people to the album with – and we felt it was something you’d be as proud as we are to share.
You’ll find all the details here on our Thunderclap page, in just a few seconds there you can book a tweet or post to go out at 9am on Monday. Please join us and hundreds of fans who’ve already signed up! Thanks for your support.
The One Show – and you’re all invited
25th May 2014
The band will be guests on The One Show this Wednesday (28 May), for a couch chat and a song to play the show out. You can, of course, watch from the comfort of your own home – the show airs live on BBC One from 7-8pm.
But if you’re in the area, why not come down and watch live? The performance will be outside on the piazza at BBC Broadcasting House (Portland Place), which is open to the public, so if you’re within striking distance we’d love to see you there!
