Yorkshire Gold

1st July 2010

James have just been announced as headliners for the Saturday night at the fourth annual Bingley Music Live festival this September.

The three day event will be held in the picturesque Myrtle Park in the heart of Bingley,  from Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th September, and has an excellent reputation amongst both festival-goers and bands who have played there in previous years.  It’s quite an intimate festival, with a capacity of just 15,000, and it has been praised for having a powerful and punchy sound system as well as a great atmosphere and quality line-up, and because it’s funded and run by the local council they are able to keep tickets prices low.

James will be playing on Saturday the 4th.  The full line-up is yet to be announced, however there will be 22 bands playing over the course of the weekend, and entry on the Friday night is free of charge.

Weekend tickets allow access on Saturday and Sunday, and are priced at a very reasonable £30 (plus fees).  They are available now from the BML website, as well as the following independent outlets:

You may also purchase tickets (in person only) from the Bingley Council Shop, Keighley Town Hall, and Bradford Tourist Information.

NB there is no camping on site, so if you don’t live locally you will need somewhere to stay.  Book your accommodation early if you want to have a good choice and reasonable prices.  There are also independent campsites in the area, please see the camping & accommodation section of the BML site for further information, as well as details of the Park & Ride facility.  There are no day tickets available at this time, and it’s unlikely there will be any released, as they would only be made available in the event the weekend tickets do not sell out.

We do not yet have the stage time, however the curfew on Saturday night is 9:30pm (full length set, mind), so there may be time for some of you to make the last train home!

Corona in Mexico City with the Pixies

23rd June 2010

Making good on their promise, James will finally be returning to the other side of the Atlantic this autumn.

The band will be playing at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City on 16th October, where they’ll be appearing on the Main Stage at 7:40pm (TBC)  just before headliners the Pixies.  The 55,000-capacity festival is held at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, and the line up includes Interpol, Echo & The Bunnymen, White Lies, Metric, and The Temper Trap, amongst others.

Tickets go on sale on 29th June, at 11am Central Time (CDT), and will be available from Ticketmaster Mexico, priced at $450 MN (Mexican Pesos), which is approximately $35 US, until 31st August, and from 1st September they’ll go up to $550 MN (about $43 US).

For those of you in North America who’ve been waiting, patiently or otherwise, for another chance to see the band live, keep an eye on your inbox, as we’ll have further news that may be of interest to you soon…

I.O.W. warm up show & footy in Oxford

31st May 2010

As a warm up for their appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival the following day, the band will be performing at the very cosy (capacity 500) Academy 2 in Oxford on Saturday 12th June.

Obviously this date clashes with the England match…  But fear not, footy fans, the band won’t be taking to the stage until after the match has finished. And we have a special arrangement with the Academy  which – provided you’re in the venue one hour before kick off – will allow ticket holders complimentary entry to the main room where the the match will be screened, so you can come along and watch it en masse if you’d like.

The band will be on stage at 10:30pm.  Doors open at 9:15pm, and there is a 1am curfew, although ticket holders may stay for the club night afterwards, which goes on until 3am.  Please note, this is an 18+ show.

We have an allocation of fan tickets for those of you on the wearejames.com mailing list, which will be available from 10am Monday morning – check your inbox for details.

The remaining tickets will go on general sale at 10am on Tuesday morning (1st June), and are available from gigsandtours.com.
