I.O.W. warm up show & footy in Oxford

31st May 2010

As a warm up for their appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival the following day, the band will be performing at the very cosy (capacity 500) Academy 2 in Oxford on Saturday 12th June.

Obviously this date clashes with the England match…  But fear not, footy fans, the band won’t be taking to the stage until after the match has finished. And we have a special arrangement with the Academy  which – provided you’re in the venue one hour before kick off – will allow ticket holders complimentary entry to the main room where the the match will be screened, so you can come along and watch it en masse if you’d like.

The band will be on stage at 10:30pm.  Doors open at 9:15pm, and there is a 1am curfew, although ticket holders may stay for the club night afterwards, which goes on until 3am.  Please note, this is an 18+ show.

We have an allocation of fan tickets for those of you on the wearejames.com mailing list, which will be available from 10am Monday morning – check your inbox for details.

The remaining tickets will go on general sale at 10am on Tuesday morning (1st June), and are available from gigsandtours.com.

Portuguese dates for December – tickets on sale now

8th May 2010

James will be heading back to Portugal at the end of the year for two concerts in Lisbon and Porto.  They’ll be playing at the historic Campo Pequeno Bullring in Lisbon on the 3rd of December, and the Pavilhão Rosa Mota in Porto on the 4th.

Campo Pequeno, or Praça de Touros do Campo Pequeno as it’s known locally, is located in Campo Pequeno Square just off the Avenida da República in Lisbon, and was built in the late 19th century in the Moorish Revival style, inspired by the bullring of Madrid which was later demolished.

The Pavilhão Rosa Mota is a domed pavilion set within the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal (Crystal Palace Gardens), which is a landscaped park complete with ornamental lake and formal gardens patrolled by peacocks, on a hillside overlooking the Douro River. The pavilion was built in 1956 to replace the 19th century iron-and-glass Crystal Palace that gave the gardens its name.

Tickets for both shows range in price from 25 € to 30 €, and are available now from TicketLine Portugal, via their website ticketline.sapo.pt (for those who do not speak Portuguese, you can toggle between languages by clicking on the flags in the upper right corner of their homepage), or by telephone on +351 707 234 234.
