Dear John: Magical new video by Peter Vacz

6th July 2016

So proud to present our new music video for Dear John, made in Budapest with great care by the wonderful Péter Vácz (of All I’m Saying fame). It’s a stunner.

Péter describes it thus, “Dear John [the movie] tells the story of a couple’s life-changing trip up a mountain. On their way they are interrupted by a mysterious black cat who leads them deep into the woods where they discover dark secrets.”

Premiered exclusively by Under The Radar, you can watch it here. If it delights you half as much as it does us, pass it on.

If you’re in the UK you can now watch the set IN FULL here on the BBC’s Glastonbury microsite.

Good things come to those who wait, Australia!

21st June 2016

Would you believe we’re finally visiting Australia for the very first time? This November, the band bring Girl At The End Of The World to the Tivoli in Brisbane (12), Sydney’s Metro Theatre (13), the 170 Russell in Melbourne (14) and Metropolis Fremantle (16).

There will be a fan pre-sale beginning 9am on Wednesday 22 June (see live page for link) and tickets go on general sale on Friday 24 June at 10am.

V.I.P. Soundchecks tickets will be available for these shows too – you get to come down early and watch 3 songs of the band’s soundcheck, followed by a short Q&A session where the guys take questions from the audience. You’re also given priority early entry to the venue just before doors open to the general public, so you can stake out a spot on the barrier or do some merch shopping before the masses pile in, and you’ll get an exclusive gift and souvenir laminate to take home with you too.

The V.I.P. Soundcheck tickets will be available on Wednesday in our pre-sale, and should be priced at approximately AUS $135 plus booking fee, which includes the actual concert ticket (with the exception of Brisbane where they’re sold as separate concert ticket and VIP Soundcheck upgrade).

Glastonbury on the box

18th June 2016

If you’re not joining us at Glastonbury this year, tune in to BBC Four’s James programme on Friday 7:30-8pm to watch 30 minutes of highlights from the set.

It’s worth keeping an eye and an ear on media coverage of the festival in general, as we don’t always get a heads up when the band will feature. Add James to your ‘favourites’ line up on the BBC’s Glastonbury micro-site too, apparently you’ll get updates through the site and it may minimise the risk of missing out on James content they share.

We have also had confirmation that Tim will be chatting with Chris Evans live on air at the festival site on Friday morning – tune in to Radio 2 at or around 8:30am.

Virgin Radio Takeover

14th June 2016

Tim and Jim will be on air with Virgin Radio from 10am-1pm on Sunday 19 June, helping choose songs and chatting about their selections over the course of the 3-hour programme.

You can listen on DAB radio or online.

Tim will also be a guest on Edith Bowman’s Breakfast Show on Thursday 23 June, appearing sometime between 9-10am.

UPDATE: If you missed the Sunday Takeover broadcast you can listen again here.

(For the sake of clarity, Tim and Jim have only chosen the songs they discuss—the rest of the programming is Virgin’s.)

Radio 2 Maida Vale session

3rd June 2016

Delighted to confirm the band will be joining Jo Whiley at the historic Maida Vale studios for a live session on Wednesday 15th June. Tune in to her programme on BBC Radio 2 from 8-10pm, you can listen on 88-91 FM, DAB or online.

Presenting our new music video: Girl At The End Of The World

23rd May 2016

Our new music video for current single Girl At The End Of The World is finally being premiered tonight by Culture Collide, and you can watch it on their website here.

The haunting and thought provoking film was made by award winning director Kris Merc (who also directed To My Surprise) and stars Brandon Flowers and Alexandra Chelaru.

Tim says, “Kris’s ‘To My Surprise’ video is already an official selection for the Annercy International Film Festival, it’s up against adverts created on a hundred times his budget. Once again he works miracles for us, creating this video of beauty on the budget of a lyric video (Monopoly money), made from the generosity of his spirit and sticky back plastic. It contrasts the release of the departed with the grief of those left behind and is beautifully cast, acted and danced.”
